The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has identified a motorcycle rider following a crash in Greer.Video above: Previous coverage The coroner has identified the motorcycle rider as Scott Matthew McKnight, 41, of Simpsonville.The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened Friday on SC 14, two miles east of Greer.According to officials, McKnight was headed east on SC 14 and a 2000 Honda sedan was headed west on SC 14 when the collision happened.Officials say the driver of the Honda was turning left onto Tandem Drive when they collided with McKnight.McKnight died at the scene and the driver of the Honda was injured and taken to the hospital, according to officials.The coroner says McKnight’s cause of death was blunt force trauma and the manner of his death was ruled to be accidental. This crash remains under investigation by the GCCO and SCHP.
