Music label MORE VISION, spearheaded by Jay Park, and singer Jessi are currently in discussions regarding the termination of their exclusive contract, as reported on December 6 KST.

Recently, MORE VISION conveyed its intent to terminate Jessi’s exclusive contract, and the two parties are currently engaged in discussions. In April, Jessi announced the signing of an exclusive contract with MORE VISION following the expiration of her contract with P-Nation, led by Psy, in July of the previous year. However, just seven months into the contract period, the decision to end their professional relationship came as a sudden development, even though there was still ample time left.

Nevertheless, divergent opinions persist between MORE VISION and Jessi, leading to an impasse without a formal agreement. The key concern now is how to bridge these differences, although the chances of reconciliation and the continuation of their contractual relationship appear to be quite slim.

Jessi made her comeback with the release of her new song “Gum” on October 25 KST, marking half a year since she joined MORE VISION. However, controversy ensued when Jessi abruptly canceled her appearance on KBS2‘s ‘Music Bank‘ scheduled for October 27. MORE VISION cited the artist’s sudden health condition as the reason for her non-appearance.

Subsequently, Jessi also missed appearances on MBC‘s ‘Show! Music Core‘ and SBS‘s ‘Inkigayo‘ due to health issues, which raised eyebrows as it contrasted with her previous active participation on music broadcast stages during album promotions.

An industry insider revealed, “Jessi and MORE VISION had disagreements during her new song promotions, and these issues persisted thereafter. Ultimately, MORE VISION decided it would be best for both parties to part ways.”

On October 31, Jessi appeared on SBS Power FM‘s ‘Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time’ and openly expressed, “After leaving the company (P Nation), I went solo. I learned a lot, but I also experienced betrayal. I haven’t had a break in four years. I’ve been hurt, exhausted from constant work, stressed, and betrayed.”
